Unit 10

In unit 3 I score a 7 for my assessment. Currently I score a 5, the score have changed as I progressed in my pregnancy.  I had to adjust certain things, overall it's just ok for 9 months pregnant woman.  I have made some progress in the spiritual and mental just a bit.  I am not where I want to be yet, but I am still on the path.  I am keeping some focus in order to get back on track as soon as my doctor give me the ok after my baby is born.  I have made changes and not quite follow the plan I made for myself.  Instead of walking all the time I added swimming, and prenatal yoga on occasion.  These changes have helped me tremenduosly.  I have learned how to take better care of myself before doing so for someone else.  In doing so , I am more efficient at what I do or say to them. It's sincere and not just a script. This class has been great, the hardest thing for me was to open up in my blog.

Unit 9 final reflections

                        I.                    Introduction:
Why is it important for health and wellness professionals to develop psychologically, spiritually and physically? What areas do you need to develop to achieve the goals you have for yourself?
It’s crucial for health and wellness professionals to develop psychologically, spiritually and physically because they are the healer.  They are the key to the evolution and fulfillment of the integral healing process.  When they are developed in such aspects, they become aligned to the root of the healing process of their healees (Dacher, E. (2006).  Their methods are more efficient, and are not a scratch of the surface of the problems.  They don’t lose hope easily and understand the ups and downs of the journey of their patient, because they are fully developed psychologically, spiritually and physically.  Their accomplishment has become their way of life.
The area that I personally need to develop to achieve the goals I have for myself is spirituality.  I believe that I still need improvement psychologically, and physically.  However, when I am strong spiritually I am fuelled to excel in the other area with more determination, and achieve so much with fewer obstacles.  This fact has led me to comprehend the importance of the law of priority.
                     II.                    Assessment:
How have you assessed your health in each domain? How do you score your wellness spiritually, physically, and psychologically?
I have assessed myself in each domain by the way I react to adversity and the way I put in practice the lessons learn in that domain.  As mentioned above my wellness spirituality need improvement because I know I can achieve so much more.  As of now it’s just good.  I need to be consistent to achieve a better score.
Physically, my score is poor due to current pregnancy situation.  However, from a pregnancy point of view It’s great, because I manage to stay active by swimming, doing moderate prenatal yoga stretches, and walking.  As the pregnancy progresses, I am forced to work with my body and at time be gentle.  The goal is to get back on track to a better routine once the baby arrive, and obtain permission from my doctor.
Psychologically, my score is aligned with the spiritual score.  I feel better psychologically when I am strong spiritually.  I t goes back to the law of priority.  When I excel in the spiritual the psychological domain enhances almost automatically or with minimal work.
                  III.                    Goal development:
List at least one goal you have for yourself in each area, Physical, Psychological (mental health) and Spiritual.
Physical: my goal is to return to my regular pre-pregnancy size and weight.
Psychological:  my goal is to respond and react to my circumstances, and make up my mind to remain joyful and not pursuit just happiness.
Spiritual: my goal is to nurture this area every day.  I want to put God, the Lord and my Savior first in everything that I do.  I want to pursue him by reading and meditating on his word.  I want to give the best and first fruit of anything that I earn.
                  IV.                    Practices for personal health:
What strategies can you implement to foster growth in each of the following domains; Physical, Psychological, and Spiritual. Provide at least two examples of exercises or practices in each domain. Explain how you will implement each example.
Physical: exercise three to four times a week, mixing cardio, swimming, cycling and weight training.  I would also improve my diet by eating regular home cooked nutritious meal and adding enough fiber, fruits and vegetables, protein in it.
Spiritual: read the bible daily and meditate on it, practice the gift of speaking in tongues received from the baptism of the Holy Spirit, and putting God first.
Psychological: practice affirmations, meditating on the positive and letting go on the negative. Use my spiritual strength to forgive myself and others and maintain a positive attitude when facing obstacles.

                     V.                    Commitment:
How will you assess your progress or lack of progress in the next six months? What strategies can you use to assist in maintaining your long-term practices for health and wellness?
The best answer I have for both of these questions is that I will make sure to have an accountability partner.  I realize that no matter how good my intentions are when I have an accountability partner I automatically improve in anything I am working on.  This statement does not mean I cannot do it alone.  It’s simply easier on me when my accountability partner keeps me accountable.

Visualization & Meditation

The two practices that I have chosen are meditation and visualization.  I have determined that they have been the most beneficial to me.  They have helped me dig deeper in my mind and clear out the clutters more than I would imagine.  The method I would use to implement these practices in my personal life to foster my mental fitness is by having a plan and working it.    I would do mediation in the mornings  and visualization at night.  The most  crucial step I would need to have is consistency and discipline.  Therefore, I would start slow or 1to 2 days a week, and gradually update to 3,4 to 7 days a weeks.
I am absolutely positive that  once I gain momentum, it will become easier.

Unit 7

For my visualization practice this week I chose my mother.  My beautiful mom passed away 4 years ago due to breat cancer.  I thank God that 95% of the time I am able to keep her alive through the great lessons she has thought me with a smile on my face.  I could not help but think about the way she use to take her time to teach me, how to be everything I would set my mind on.   i ponder about her facial expression when she was serious and when she was joking.  She is one the wisest and strong woman I have ever known. Picking her for this exercise was perfect and peaceful.

"One cannot lead another where one has not gone himself".  There is a creole proverbes that says" moun ki pase maladi ki konen remed". " Those who have been sick, are sure to know medicine".
Whenever I have been through something and encounter someone who is going through the same dilemma, it is always easier for me to genuinely relate, give advice or simply understand them.  In any other case, I am just doing my best trying but not being authentic.
It's great to help someone when I have personal experience with what's going on.  I can implement psychological and spiritual growth in your personal life by staying open-minded, willing to learn and surrendering to Christ my God.
